Facebook is the place where people express their views in abundance (good, bad, and just plain damn unnecessary). The good thing is that everyone has a right to express themselves. The bad thing is everyone has a right to express themselves (see what I did there). Seemingly, many of us can’t get enough of this double edged sword of social media. In the end, it is that double edged sword that keeps many of us coming back for more.
Well, it IS the truth.
Then again, it can also be used to express ideals of a sizable group that are profoundly ignorant. In recent times, I have come across a post dealing with “racism” and “White Pride” (as if that could ever be more necessary in the good ole U.S. of A.). It goes into a sizable explanation of how other races (especially, and more importantly, Black people) have used their race to “get what they want”. The IDEA was noble. The execution, however, was shoddy at best.

Someone finally said it. How many are actually paying attention to this? There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, etc.
And then there are just Americans.
You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you.. so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?
You have the United Negro College Fund. You have Martin Luther King Day.
You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day.
You have Yom Hashoah. You have Ma’uled Al-Nabi.
You have the NAACP. You have BET. If we had WET (White Entertainment Television), we’d be racists. If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists.
If we had White History Month, we’d be racists.
If we had any organization for only whites to ‘advance’ OUR lives, we’d be racists.
We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce. Wonder who pays for that??
A white woman could not be in the Miss Black American pageant, but any color can be in the Miss America pageant.
If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships… You know we’d be racists.
There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US … Yet if there were ‘White colleges’, that would be a racist college.
In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists.
You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you’re not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.
You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist.
I am proud…… But you call me a racist.
Why is it that only whites can be racists??
There is nothing improper about this message.. Let’s see which of you are proud enough to send it on. I sadly don’t think many will. That’s why we have LOST most of OUR RIGHTS in this country. We won’t stand up for ourselves!
BE PROUD TO BE WHITE!

Let me break this foolishness down for you with a precise and concise list of what is wrong with this line of thinking:
1.) Let us start at the end: in many situations, whites can be the only racists because they are the MAJORITY stakeholder in racial situations and racism in America. Don’t get me wrong: there can be racists of different shades and cultures. However, when much of your American history is coated in a glaze of racial contempt and double standards, why would you even start a conversation like this? Oh, yeah. Ignorance.
2.) There is something improper about this message. It reeks of unbridled ignorance and racial stupidity. Racism is something that has been institutionalized from day one when it comes to Black people. In fact, part of our capitalistic infrastructure is based on racial dealings. Alas, that will be saved for another post.
This is what racism has brought us. Be proud, America….be proud.
3.) We don’t rob you, shoot at you (usually), or carjack you (in many cases) because most of you don’t live in the same neighborhoods as those that do all of those misdeeds. The only whites that MAY be shot at are cops. And that comes with a big “maybe”. Again, you are reaching with this post.
4.) Why would you march for rights that you have? Your rights haven’t been trampled in any consummate form or fashion. Oh, and the Million Man March had more to do with BLACK issues than BLACK and WHITE issues.
5.) As far as college is concerned: HBCU’s (HISTORICALLY Black colleges and universities) only exist because WE weren’t allowed in majority white colleges. So, what did we do? We came up with our own. Oh, and by the way: there are many white people that go to those said colleges on scholarship.
6.) You don’t NEED a White History Month because YOUR history is well represented. You don’t NEED to have “advances” for your race because you have “white privilege”. So, again, you are making no sense.
Never forget, America: you will always be racist. And I won’t let you all live THIS down…..
7.) Why would you have white holidays when they already exist for you? St. Patrick’s Day surely isn’t for Black people. Also, Independence Day was for the independence of a nation that had the majority of Black people enslaved at the time. Hell, if you have a “White History Month”, it would probably last the entire year. True story.
8.) Ghettos are the worst places to live because of poverty. Poverty doesn’t always see race. Where there is poverty, there is a usually high crime rate. Sad part is that your reference even comes off as racist.
No, I didn’t cover everything. Then again, I didn’t feel the need to. This post is long enough. For all those that may be White/Caucasian/Good ole red bleeding American/whatever you call yourself, I assure you that you will be fine. You can be proud of being white; you have always had that privilege. I don’t think you will lose that privilege anytime soon.
