This was the premier single off of John Legend’s second album, Once Again. Oh, and yes this is my favorite John Legend album (yeah, I said it). Hell, John had women “saving room for his love” by the multitudes. Love, sexuality, and amorous feelings can be funny like that. You can’t help who you love. Therefore, always try to find a way to enjoy it and express it.
Even if this relationship was an out of country tryst, you can see where it may lead.
Question:
I was born in a European country but currently live in the US. My dad lives in this country. Every summer, my sister and I go there to visit him. This past summer I fell in love with someone there. We’re kind of childhood friends. We used to live in the same building and play together. This summer we dated and surprisingly I fell in love. I’m the type of girl who doesn’t believe in love so everything was new to me. Obviously, at the end of the summer, we broke it off and I returned to the US. He wants to date again, but I’m really not sure about what I should do. We had so many problems in such a short period of time that I really don’t know if it was just a “summer romance” or something more.
Any help?

I want you to see where this is headed for the simple fact that you are in love. I know you had your issues with him in the previous “love tryst”. I know that you are apprehensive. But, I think you should see where this actually goes. I want you to experience what love has to offer with him so you can grow and change your viewpoint on what love truly is.
However, don’t try to be with him if you know you aren’t a good match.
I know your biggest concern is the issues that you both had. But where these issues “growing pains” or “conflicts of interest”? Were there “simple disagreements” or “contusions of values”? You have to truly see if there are some existing “simple matters that need compromise” or irreconcilable differences. If they are the former, then stick around. If they are the latter, then keep it moving because it may never work out in anyone’s favor.
Personally, I want you to win. However, we have to make sure that your situation is a winning one. I don’t want you to rush into something you shouldn’t even be involved in. However, I don’t want you to miss out on love, something you don’t believe in yet it exists on a daily basis. I want you to experience what true love can bring. Maybe this out-of-country experience might be the catalyst for something greater than you.
